Japan’s invention: Move around with your car in a bag known as WalkCar.

Kuniako Saito, a Japanese engineer in graduate school, and his team at Cocoa Motors have created a portable ride that is the World’s first ‘car in a bag’. The vehicle, named as ‘WalkCar’, is quiet small and can fit in a backpack. This wonderful invention is made of aluminium and depending on the model, indoor or outdoor version, the weight is between two and three kilograms or 4.4 to 6.6 pounds. This WalkCar can carry a weight of up to 265 pounds (120 kg) and never requires a parking spot!

The skating board can reach 10 km/hour (6.2 miles per hour) and will take you a distance of 12km (7.4 miles) with three hours of charging. Saito and his team at Cocoa Motors assure it is a very simple ride where the rider has to just stand on it to start it, shift weight to change direction, and simply step off to stop.

Saito believes his creation would turn out to be quiet useful with enough power to for example, help push around wheelchairs easily. He wanted to create a transportation method that is portable and fits inside a bag. His friend challenged him to design one. At the time Saito was earning his master’s degree in engineering, with a focus on electric car motors.

The WalkCar goes beyond heavier devices like the Segway or Toyota’s Winglet, according to Saito. The popular crowdfunding website, Kickstarter allows you to donate and reserve a WalkCar. This attractive invention is due to release in 2016 and will be sold at around $800. The WalkCar is apparently appropriate for all ages and its shipping is expected to begin by spring next year. The WalkCar seems to be way more realistic and useful than Lexus hoverboard.
